Full Rainbow Gradient Nail Art:

If you have long nails then you have the option to use all the rainbow colors. In case you have short nails, add length to them or you can cut down the number of colors.

STEPS:

  1.       Start off with a clear protective base coat.
  2.       Apply white nail polish on the nails once the base coat dries. A single coat is enough. It is meant to enhance the rainbow colors.
  3.       Cut a piece of sponge (or you can use makeup sponge too) that is only a little larger than the size of your nails.
  4.       Now paint thin stripes of each rainbow color on a sponge in order; pink, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. Make sure you do it real quick without letting the nail colors to dry.
  5.       Dab the sponge on the nails one by one, moving it up and down a little only to blend the colors with one another.
  6.       Clean the mess around your nails.
  7.       Finish off with a glossy top-coat. You can also use a glittery top-coat or even a matte top coat.

You’ll be needing thin nail art brushes for this one, especially the detail nail art brush. The white base has made the overall appearance of periwinkles bright and striking.

STEPS:

  1.       Start with the application of clear protective base coat.
  2.       Select the nail colors you’d like to use. Here, a creamy white nail color is used as base nail color and red, black and green nail colors to paint periwinkles.
  3.       Apply creamy white nail polish on your nails. For a more fancy finish, apply two coats.
  4.       With the help of striper brush, draw two or three small ambiguous (cloud-shaped) dots on each fingernail. Paint in tiny dots with white nail color. (refer to the picture)
  5.       Using a detail brush with a freehand paint the petals. Put on small single strokes to make a complete blooming flower. (mimic from the picture given)
  6.       Use a detail brush again to paint the stems with parrot green nail polish.
  7.       Finish off with a top coat.

STEPS:

  1.       Apply a clear protective base coat on your nails.
  2.       Select three pastel nail colors, one dark nail color  you’d like to use for this nail art. Here, pastel blue and brown, nude and white nail colors are used.
  3.       Paint the small, middle and ring fingernail with pastel blue nail color.
  4.       Paint the thumbnail and index fingernail with pastel brown nail color.
  5.       On the small fingernail, paint a semi-circle at the cuticle with brown nail color. Using a detail brush draw lines of the semicircle on it with black nail color. Similarly, draw vertical lines at the blue painted area of the nail.
  6.       Paint the center of index fingernail and thumbnail  with pastel blue nail color. Draw vertical and horizontal black lines on them too, respectively, using detail brush.
  7.       Paint the center of middle finger nail vertically with nude nail color. Put on one or two white lines with a detail brush.
  8.       Draw a flamingo using striper and detail brush with black nail color on the middle and ring fingernail. Make a “2” first and then modify it into a flamingo. Paint its legs at the very end.
  9.       Refer to the picture given above for step 5,6,7 and 8.
  10.   Finish off with a top coat.

This nail art is quite a time taking but the dedication, patience, and hard work to recreate it is worthful. It’d look better on lengthy nails. Show some love to the sleek flamingos!
